Grief, Loss and What Actually Helps: An Introduction

Where do you begin when grief, loss or a major life change has affected you – or someone close to you?

Maybe you work in mental health, pastoral care or another helping role. Perhaps you want to feel more confident when it comes to loss, and better able to support the people around you. Maybe you’re bereaved, or going through one of the many other life events that can cause grief - such as divorce, family estrangement, chronic illness, redundancy, or another major life change.

Maybe the loss happened long ago, but you still feel the impact, or life simply feels strangely flat or shut down.

This online introductory workshop will help you:

  • Understand grief and loss more clearly, including how and why grief can affect the body, mind, relationships and everyday life

  • Explore practical and emotional tools that can help people begin to recover from grief - yes, recover is a big word, and I use it carefully

  • Learn about what helps - and what doesn’t - when supporting someone else through loss

  • Ask questions, either during the session or in advance

The session will be relaxed, respectful and confidential. You are welcome to share, ask questions, or simply listen.

The workshop is free/donation-based, but booking is essential and numbers are limited.
